BOARD OF GOVERNORS 2016 – 2017

Dmitry Gorin is a partner in Kestenbaum Eisner & Gorin LLP, a Southern California law firm devoted to defending criminal cases in state and federal court. Mr. Gorin is a former Senior Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles County, where he specialized in litigating major felony trials. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the UCLA Speech and Communications Department and Pepperdine University School of Law, where he instructs trial advocacy, pretrial litigation, settlement negotiations, and sentencing. His work on Grand Jury Investigations has been published numerous times in the California Criminal Law: Procedure and Practice (California State Bar, 2008).

Daniel Velton is a litigation partner at Velton Zegelman PC and founder of the Eastern European Bar Association. Prior to cofounding his own firm, he worked for Littler Mendelson, the largest labor and employment law firm in the world, where he litigated numerous cases – both single-plaintiff and class actions – on behalf of America’s largest corporations. He now represents employees in discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment and other claims and lawsuits against their employers.

Julian Zegelman is a corporate partner at Velton Zegelman. His practice focuses on assisting clients with their diverse business needs, including entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, venture capital transactions, private securities offerings, reverse mergers and alternative public offerings, equity and debt financing, corporate governance and compliance, intellectual property protection and transfer, licensing, and tax-exempt entities formation, restructuring, and regulatory compliance. Mr. Zegelman enjoys representing entrepreneurs and start-ups from inception through multiple rounds of venture financing and ultimate exit.

Leonard Grayver is a chair of the Emerging Companies/Venture Capital practice at Greenberg, Whitcombe, Takeuchi, Gibson & Grayver LLP, a boutique corporate and litigation law firm, with offices in Los Angeles, Palo Alto, and Moscow. Mr. Grayver works primarily with Russian and US-based start-up companies in areas of corporate and securities laws, formation, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic business planning. Mr. Grayver specializes in venture capital financings and represents some of the leading Russian Venture Capital Funds, such as Troika Dialog Group, Russian Venture Company, Runa Capital, and IVFRT. Mr. Grayver is an advisor to the Better Future Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to fostering ties between Russian and US secondary school teachers. In 2009, Mr. Grayver participated in a Russian parliamentary committee on the drafting and implementation of a new law on “investment partnerships”. He is the author of the Guide to the Venture Capital Term Sheets (Venture Capital Press, 2017).

Alex Grager is a Family Law attorney at Feinberg Mindel Brandt & Klein, LLP. Mr. Grager has experience in all aspects of domestic relations and divorce law and represents clients in all stages of divorce proceedings, from inception through trial or settlement, and post-Judgment. Mr. Grager received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Southern California in 2001 and a law degree from the University of Southern California Law Center in 2004. He was named a Rising Star by Los Angeles Magazine in 2009 and 2010.

Jennie Levin is a partner at the Law Offices of Jennie Levin. Ms. Levin focuses her practice on corporate transactions and securities-related matters. These include private placements of debt and equity securities for issuers, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations. Ms. Levin has represented clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and real estate. Prior to starting private practice, Ms. Levin worked for a nation’s top-60 law firm, in Litigation Department, where she was involved in representing big pharmaceutical companies, such as Pfizer and AstraZeneca in litigation claims regarding their pharmaceutical products as well as companies, such as Broadcom in derivative shareholder and stock options backdating claims.

David B. Golubchik is a partner of Levene, Neale, Bender, Yoo & Brill L.L.P. He focuses his practice on business reorganization and bankruptcy. His representative industries include construction and real estate, aerospace, publishing, apparel, food, beverages, restaurants, and other wholesale, retail and service operations both domestically and internationally. A prolific author and speaker on bankruptcy issues, Mr. Golubchik is a graduate of the Pepperdine University School of Law where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy. He also graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in economics. Since 2005, he has been honored annually as a “Super Lawyer?? in annual region-wide peer surveys, an honor bestowed on only 5% of Southern California attorneys.
